My background includes a Bachelor of Business Studies (First Class Honours) in Finance and Management from Massey University, early roles at UDC Finance, The New Zealand Treasury in the National Budget Strategy Team and Health Sector, and an Investment Analyst for Mayne Health in Melbourne, several contract roles to the Ministry of Health, and two decades operating and advising small and medium businesses across multiple industries (agriculture, viticulture, fruit production, exporting fresh produce, trucking, earthworks, security, retail and quarrying). I have also gained extensive experience throughout my career in navigating the challenges of working both in and alongside Government Agencies and local bodies.

I empower business owners to take control of their business and either Step Up to achieve sustainable growth, Step Back to achieve financial freedom and lifestyle flexibility, or Step Out and be rewarded for the years of hard grind. I work alongside clients to fill gaps in knowledge, skills, and systems across all areas of the business - including people, processes, strategy, marketing, and finance. I’m all about making things work better - streamlining processes, sharpening strategies, strengthening financial foundations, and turning challenges into sustainable, confident growth. I am passionate about helping people not just survive in business - but thrive, with clarity, purpose, and balance.

My approach is practical, honest, and deeply grounded in real-world experience. Over the years, I’ve built, run, and rebuilt businesses, including helping to lead my family business through the devastation of Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023. That experience strengthened my resilience, sharpened my strategic thinking, and reminded me what truly matters - people, purpose, and quality of life.

What sets me apart is my unique combination of financial expertise, big-picture strategy, and genuine empathy. I know what it’s like to juggle every role in a business - from CEO to bookkeeper to problem-solver - and I understand the pressures that come with that responsibility.

My passion outside of work is mountain biking where I have performed at the elite level winning the 2017 World Masters Cross Country Championships. In 2020 I founded a coaching business designed to introduce riders of all ages to mountain biking in a safe, supportive environment.

Through my experience as both an athlete and coach, I developed strong skills in motivation, overcoming challenges, communication, and confidence-building—qualities that directly enhance my work as a business advisor and coach. The discipline, resilience, and self-belief required to succeed in sport mirrors the attributes I bring to helping business owners achieve sustainable growth and success.
